  • Understand the emotional impact of separation/divorce on children.

  • Learn key principles of effective co-parenting communication.

  • Develop strategies to reduce conflict and improve cooperation.

  • Create a shared parenting vision focused on the child’s well-being.

  • Walk away with a personalized co-parenting action plan.
     

📋 Workshop Outline & Agenda

9:00 AM – 9:15 AM | Welcome & Introductions

  • Icebreaker: “What I Hope for My Child”

  • Overview of the day’s goals and group norms
     

9:15 AM – 9:45 AM | Understanding the Child’s Perspective

  • Activity: “Through Their Eyes” – Exploring how children experience parental conflict

  • Discussion: Common emotional reactions in children (by age/stage)

  • Handout: Red Flags vs. Protective Factors
     

9:45 AM – 10:30 AM | Healthy Co-Parenting Communication

  • The 3 C’s: Calm, Clear, Consistent

  • Role-play: “Triggered Texts” – De-escalating digital miscommunication

  • Scripts for difficult conversations (ex changes, holidays, new partners)
     

10:30 AM – 10:45 AM | Break
 

10:45 AM – 11:30 AM | Boundaries, Agreements & Conflict Resolution

  • Defining healthy boundaries in co-parenting

  • Activity: "Yes, No, Maybe" – What’s negotiable, what’s not?

  • Sample parenting agreements and communication platforms
     

11:30 AM – 12:00 PM | Co-Parenting Vision & Action Plan

  • Guided worksheet: What do we want our child to remember?

  • Create a 30-day Co-Parenting Plan: goals, schedules, check-ins

  • Optional: Write a shared commitment statement for your child
     

12:00 PM | Closing & Resource Sharing

  • Group check-out: One thing I’m taking with me today

  • Local support resources (family therapists, mediators, parenting classes)

  • Certificate of Completion
